Welcome to the much-anticipated 9th edition of Returning to Love (RTL), the focus this time is on ‘Celebrating our gifts’. Immerse yourself in a transformative journey where each moment resonates with joy, meaning, and connection. The event unfolds in three enchanting segments, each spotlighting the diverse gifts and talents of our community, expressed through performing arts, such as dance, music, theatre, and more. There will also be workshops offering a chance to engage with our celebrity guests, the VOYCEs of Inspiration. Whether you’re an audience member or a participant, RTL promises a vibrant tapestry of creativity, joy, and meaningful connections. Don’t miss this extraordinary celebration!

At RTL we are inviting people who are celebrating their gifts – we believe these individuals will inspire the audience to look within to identify their gifts, and if they already know their gifts, then have the courage to honour them. And if they are already honouring them, then have strength to expand them, celebrate them. There will also be workshops offering a chance to share thoughts and engage with our celebrity guests, the ‘VOYCEs of Inspiration’. Whether you’re an audience member or a participant, RTL promises a vibrant tapestry of creativity, joy, and meaningful connections. Don’t miss this extraordinary celebration.

Why celebrate our gifts?

Have you noticed that people who are living and celebrating their gifts find it easier to respond from a space of love? They are secure and more courageous. And you rarely find them comparing themselves to others. When asked, their answer is simple, ‘This is my gift. And what I do with it is my way of ‘giving back.’ They see people measure success differently. In short, there is great power in recognizing and living one’s gifts.

Why express through a performing act?

Inspired by McLuhan’s dictum, ‘the medium is the message’ – we believe in the transformative power of the medium, be it performing or visual arts, to convey the message that one can return to love by celebrating one’s gifts. Also, from a behaviour change standpoint, arts can be a powerful ‘nudge’ for emotional messaging, relatability, and it makes a difference where it matters: in people’s feelings. This medium enhances audience engagement, inspiring introspection, courage, and the expansion and celebration of their unique talents.

Event format

The event will span 3 hours, divided into three segments of 1 hour each, aligning with the emotions that celebrating our gifts brings to us: joy, meaning and connection.

Each segment will feature 4 performances, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for both participants and the audience.

After each performance, we will pause for the audience and our VOYCEs of Inspiration to reflect on the unique gift shared by the VOYCEs of Love (the performers).

In the end, there will be a workshop to synthesize learning from the sessions and process how everyone feels about their own gifts.
