A call to artists, 1Ness lovers and UN SDG Champions!
What is 1Ness Intelligence?
1Ness Intelligence or 1i is a space where decisions are made in line with the 1Ness principles – where there is togetherness; no otherness, no separation, no difference. There is no you and I, them and us, yours and ours.
Where 1Ness is in every breath, and heartbeat, and one is living in 1Ness awareness.
Where a feeling of being a part of the whole pervades, where we are all One. Where we think of ourselves as a collective, where all beings live in natural harmony as part of one cosmos.
And this wholeness, this consciousness finds expression in the 1Ness energy, which is reflected in our thoughts, actions and deeds.
Over time, 1Ness becomes a way of life, and a celebration. Where you feel at home everywhere. Where you feel connected with everyone and everything. Where there are no strangers or new lands. And everything you say or do, comes from that space of 1Ness, that deep love.
1Ness Intelligence and Love
Those living and celebrating 1Ness, are organically operating from a space of love - the guiding mantra of 'Returning to Love.'
This constant practice of 1Ness, then becomes a kind of ‘intelligence’ that starts working for you.
While 'Artificial Intelligence', helps in doing tasks faster and more efficiently, 1Ness Intelligence is about contentment, a higher sense of purpose, love and connection with everything and everyone. It pervades our very being, in every breath, thought and action.
1i, Love & the UN SDGs
1Ness is often equated with One Humanity. However, it is much more than that.
It is not only in thoughts, emotions and actions, but also in being one with nature and all living beings.
In 1Ness, love is a given. And when this 1Ness becomes the guiding force in each one of us, 1i takes roots as the DNA of the community and the society as a whole. The resultant actions will be transformative for its people and the planet - where all people enjoy peace and prosperity, and no one is left behind.
This transformation is then sustainable as it is all about harmony, togetherness, inclusivity, and collective wellbeing.
We, therefore, urge that 1Ness Intelligence, rooted in love, becomes the guiding force of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
Inviting art that celebrates 1Ness Intelligence
How to get started with your art?
Think of someone who is living in 1Ness, in alignment with themselves and the world around them (it could be you too!).
How do they practice togetherness? Is love the guiding mantra of what they do?
How does this reflect in their actions, and life choices?
Are they creating greater impact by honouring this 1Ness Intelligence, including in addressing the UN SDGs?
Why Art?
For people to get this message, what better way than ART – art here is a verb that inspires action.
Art is also a powerful tool for reflection and transformation.
It gives us the opportunity to reflect on the message of 1-Ness and its impact.
Suggested guidelines for the art piece
You can use any form of visual arts – painting, sketching, craft, photography, a model/installation or anything creative you may think of.
To share the story of the person/organization you are highlighting, you can submit additional photographs also (photos to be in high-resolution). You can make the art very direct, or keep it imaginative, as long as it conveys the story, and the emotion.
The art piece should be of an original design and first-hand creation of the participant.
The art piece should be accompanied by the impact story in not more than 350 words. Creative writing is encouraged, including poetry and storytelling.
Collaborative art entries are welcome. If you are sharing someone else’s story, the responsibility of taking permission from them is the artist’s responsibility.
Share your full name, age, gender, state/country, and contact details for your records. Also, mention, how you would like us to introduce you (school, organization, or anything else).
Where will this art be displayed?
The art will be first showcased at the Annual Returning to Love event on Sunday, 12 January 2024 that will celebrate these stories, and acknowledge the artists who present these stories through their beautiful art.
This art will be later compiled into a book on 1Ness Intelligence by mid-2025.
Reflections by invitation
For the shortlisted art, we will be inviting eminent reviewers who are either artists, activists, or subject-matter experts. We will also ask the UN SDG Action Campaign team to reflect on some of the related art entries. The reviewers will be looking for creativity, relevance and impact in every submission.
So, each art piece will be accompanied by three reflections – from the artist, the reviewer, and Anika Singh, Founder of Returning to Love Foundation
Last day for submission
The last day for submission of your story through art is COB, Monday, 30 December 2024. We need time for our peers to reflect, and for us to print and curate the art exhibition for 12 January 2025.
